See for yourself how villagers improve living conditions and where they get together to conduct different projects, mainly with their own resources.

Possible activities

Discover rural life: A village committee will be happy to show you around the village, to see or participate in daily activities of the farmers, such as rice transplanting, harvesting or cake making.
Have breakfast, lunch or dinner with the villagers: You are welcome to join them with their usual meals.
Enjoy local products such as fruit, cakes and drinks (coconut juice, sugar palm juice or rice wine in dry season)
Learn about village projects: how profits of the development program are used, for example how a rice bank works.
Climb Phnom Sra Mach: A mountain with two painted pagodas on top reached by climbing the 288 steps.

Daily visit - no fee is fixed, of course the committee hopes you to cover expenses of food and drinks and make a small remuneration for the committee members (recommended minimum $2 pp). Spending the night - to cover the expenses of dinner, breakfast and spending the night, $15 is requested. The committee keeps proper accounting of all income and expenses so any benefits are reinvested into the village development.

Where: Daem Po village is between Kampot and Phnom Penh on road no 3. Coming from Kampot (60km), pass Chhouk and about 15km further just after an iron bridge, take a right into Daem Po.
