Rural Enterprise Centre of Chamcar Bei![]() Foundation to Help the Poor (FHP) provides training in integrated agriculture at its rural training centre in Chamcar Bei Village. Over the past year locals and travelers have helped restore gardens, fields, orchards, water supplies, buildings and playground for the centre to re-open. The first class has already graduated (April '07) with great acclaim.' Now students are fully utilizing these resources, learning pig and poultry farming, cropping and irrigation management plus other agricultural or vocational skills. "Team Extreme" trips continue by arrangement to spend a hands-on day at the farm helping with site renovation and maintenance, or to interact with the students and rural children attending classes. Guesthouse and Child Development CentreAny skills can contribute to re-vamp the child development centre, repair and finish furnishing the picturesque wooden guesthouse at Chamcar Bei ready for operation. When ready, staff will run the rural guesthouse for visitors who wish to interact with students at the farm or spend time experiencing rural Cambodian lifestyle, culture and scenery. $10 covers one night’s accommodation, breakfast and lunch with the students at the cafeteria and dinner with a Cambodian family nearby. Proceeds go directly back into the running of the farm and the renovations, educational games and sporting equipment for the child development centre. Staff, students and children are tremendously eager to interact with visitors, integrate them into their learning experiences and introduce them to the country way of life.
